Ranking QS Global Executive MBA 2019 with a university from Poland

The QS publishing house has published the results of the Executive MBA 2019 program ranking in recent days. For the first time in this ranking a Polish program, run by Gdansk University of Technology, has been classified. This year's global ranking was won by The Wharton School (Penn), second by Sloan School of Business (MIT) and third by London Business School.

The QS Global Executive MBA ranking is one of the most comprehensive MBA studies available on the market. It combines information gathered from leaders in business and management, the way programs are perceived by global employers who recruit the best global EMBA programs and are further strengthened by program-specific indicators. Over 150 schools and programs take part in the ranking. Data for the study were collected from December 2018 to February 2019. In total, 156 programs were classified, of which 22 are combined EMBA programs, i.e. jointly organized by two or more universities.

In order for a university / program to qualify, two preconditions must be met:

The MBA program run by universities should be completed by at least one edition of the studies.
The university / program must be accredited by AACSB, AMBA, EQUIS or EPAS
Although these prerequisites are necessary, it is difficult to determine exactly which studies should qualify as an Executive MBA. One of the guarantees of the EMBA program, despite problems with naming or description, is registration in the Executive MBA Council.

Data for the study are collected from two QS surveys: QS Global Employer Survey and QS Academic Survey. The answers from these studies cover a total of five years, and the answers from recent years have more weight. In addition to these surveys, schools were asked to send data on their EMBA programs covering different topics. Data from the QS Employer Survey and Academic Surveys survey is 30 percent and 25 percent of the rank weight, respectively.

The results of the QS Executive MBA 2019 ranking

In this year's edition, 156 programs from around the world have been classified. In the global ranking, the Warthon School (Penn), the second Sloan Business School (MIT) and the third London Business School ranked first. In the top 10 there were 5 programs from the USA, 3 programs from Europe and 2 multi-campus programs - those whose classes take place in more than one country.

In the case of programs from Europe, the first place was taken by the London Business School program, the second IESE Business School and the third by the Booth School of Business (Chicago) - a program run on a London campus. The first 10 items included 4 programs from Great Britain, 2 programs from Spain, 2 programs from France and one from Italy and Switzerland.

A pleasant surprise in the results of the ranking was the appearance of the first program in Poland in this ranking. This year, a program run by the Gdansk University of Technology has been classified. In Europe it was classified on a place “above 50” and in the global ranking “above 100”. It is a big success of the university, because up to now in this ranking there were no universities from our country.
