AACSB accreditation for the University of Warsaw

Yesterday the American Association for Accreditation in Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) announced the awarding of accreditation to the University of Warsaw. AACSB accreditation is one of the three most prestigious accreditations granted to business schools and organizers of MBA studies. Thus, Warsaw University was the first public university in Poland to receive the so-called "triple crown".

AACSB International (AACSB) announced on 10.05.2022 that the University of Warsaw has received accreditation in the field of business education. Other universities that received accreditation yesterday were Ajman University; Ecole de Management Leonard de Vinci, De Vinci Higher Education in Paris-La Defense; Indiana University East; John Cabot University; K J Somaiya Institute of Management; LUT University; NHH Norwegian School of Economics; School of Management at Universidad Externado de Colombia; The University of Nottingham; The University of Nottingham Ningbo China; The University of Nottingham Malaysia; Universidad de Oviedo; University College Cork; and University of New Brunswick Fredericton.

For more than 100 years, AACSB accreditation has represented the highest standard of quality in business education worldwide. As the longest-running and largest network of business education-related organizations, AACSB connects lifelong learners, educators and businesses around the world. Currently, a total of 950 institutions from 59 countries and territories have earned AACSB accreditation in business. In addition, 192 institutions maintain additional AACSB accreditation for their accounting programs.

The University of Warsaw is the first public university in Poland to obtain the so called "triple crown" i.e. all 3 most important accreditations i.e. AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS. At the same time the University of Warsaw is the second university in our country that can boast of the triple crown and the third university that obtained this accreditation.

Achieving accreditation is a difficult, demanding and long process. It requires rigorous internal focus by the college, the involvement of an AACSB-appointed mentor to work with the college, and numerous assessments at each stage of the work. During this multi-year process, schools focus on developing and implementing a plan to align with the standards set forth by AACSB. These standards require excellence in areas related to strategic management and innovation, active participation by students, faculty and staff, learning and teaching, and academic and professional engagement.
