Michael J. Baker MA, EMBA - a lecturer in the Department of Management Studies, Aalto University School of Business, Helsinki, Finland where he teaches on BSc, MSc and MBA programmes. He received the Aalto University School of Business Teacher of the Year award in 2016. He also lectures management communication in numerous universities and training organisations worldwide, most recently at Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (Senior Lecturer/visiting faculty 2010-2012); Graduate Institute of Management, Seoul School of Integrated Sciences and Technologies (aSSIST), South Korea; Extension School, Harvard University, Massachusetts, USA; the Institute of Banking, Poznan, Poland; U-Swot Consultants & co, Taipei, Taiwan; and Escuela Superior De Administracion Y Direccion De Empresas (ESADE), Barcelona, Spain. He is a partner in a training company, Seltic Training, which provides intensive management communication courses in international companies and organisations in Europe and Asia. Recent clients include ABB, Booz Allen Hamilton, City of Helsinki, City of Tallinn, Danske Bank, Finnair, Fortum, Kone, Korean Telecom, LG, Metsä Group, Nokia, Nordea, Outokumpu, Shinhan Bank, Skanska and STX. His areas of special interest in the field of business communication are presentation skills, negotiations and writing strategies. He has written materials dealing with these areas of communication for numerous training organisations including Aalto Executive Education and International Management Education (IME), Finland. He has been recently commissioned to create a Business Communication SPOC (Small Private Online Course) for the Community of European Management School’s Masters in International Management (MIM) programme (ranked 4th in FT Masters in Management, 2015).
Min Basadur, Ph.D. - Professor Emeritus of innovation in the Michael G. DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University and Founder of Basadur Applied Creativity. Dr. Basadur is a recognized world leader in the field of applied creativity with years of experience in building creative thinking, innovation and problem solving capabilities across organizations. He has helped numerous industry leaders including Procter &Gamble, Frito-Lay, PepsiCo, Goodrich and Ford to involve employees at every level in using their creativity to generate hundreds of millions of dollars in new revenues and cost saving.
prof. Marja Blomqvist - she has a unique combination of academic and practical industrial experience on the field of operations management. She has received her MSC and Lic. Tech degrees in former Helsinki University of Technology (currently Aalto University). She has worked in research and applied research with companies in the field of operations and supply chain management. She has also worked as supply chain development manager in the consumer electronics industry. Marja is currently partner in the consulting company QDC Business Engineering, where her passion is to help companies and organizations improve the way they operate. She works with Aalto Executive Education with operations-related training. She has also part-time teaching activities at Aalto Unversity’s Department of Industrial Engineering and Management as well as in Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences. Her main research interest is factory roles in operations networks. Her other professional interests cover operations strategy and operations management, supply chain management as well as Lean thinking.
Tomas Falk - (PhD, University of Mannheim, Germany) is an Associate Professor of Marketing at Aalto University School of Business, Finland. His research interest and expertise focuses on service quality management, self-service technologies, and mobility as a service. His research has been published in journals such as Journal of Marketing, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Service Research, Journal of Business Research, and Technological Forecasting and Social Change. He has won several research awards, including an Overall Best Paper Award of the American Marketing Association. He has worked on consulting projects with companies such as BASF, BMW, Opel, Roche Diagnostics, and SAP. His current research activities explore issues such as customer centricity, customer co-creation, and peer-to-peer carsharing.
J. Michael Geringer Ph.D. - the O’Bleness Professor of International Strategy and Director of Research at Ohio University’s College of Business. Prior to that, he was a tenured full Professor at California Polytechnic University’s Orfalea College of Business, where he taught courses in international management, strategic management, technopreneurship, joint ventures and alliances, venture capital, international business, business simulation, and mergers and acquisitions. He designed and launched the innovative Ohio International Consulting Program at Ohio University, as well as the International Business Certificate program. In addition to his university activities, Dr. Geringer consults with a variety of domestic and multinational clients, including several Fortune 500 and Fortune Global 500 organizations.
Arvind K. Jain, Ph.D. - he has been a faculty member at Concordia University in Montreal since 1990. He earned his Ph. D. from The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. His other degrees are from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburgh. Before joining Concordia, he had taught at Indiana University, McGill University, The University of Michigan and the University of Dar es Salaam. He has held short-term or visiting appointments at Pennsylvania State University, International University of Japan, and University of Otago (New Zealand). He has taught courses on international financial management, international banking, macroeconomics for executives and in other areas in Canada, the United States, Finland, India, Mexico, New Zealand, Poland and other countries around the world at doctoral, MBA and other levels. Besides teaching, he has worked in industry or in public sector in India, the United States, Tanzania and Mexico. His current research interests focuses on the impact of international financial imbalances on the contemporary financial and economic crises and on the impact of corruption on poverty and economic development.
prof. Damien P. McLoughlin - Anthony C. Cunningham Professor of Marketing and Associate Dean at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School in Ireland. He has been a visiting professor at Johnson School at Cornell University, the Indian School of Business, Purdue University and IMD. Between 2011 and 2014 he was a faculty member on the Harvard Business School Agribusiness seminar and continues to contribute case studies to this programme. Since 2014 he has been a visiting professor at Stern School at New York University. Damien has published over seventy papers and two books on strategy and marketing issues. He has also written more than twenty-five case studies, mainly relating to leadership and strategy issues in the food and agribusiness sector. Damien has consulted and led executive programmes in Europe, North America, Asia, Africa and Latin America while also working with a number of the world’s leading organisations including Alltech, Allianz, Bord Bia (The Irish Food Board), Charoen Pokphand Group (CP), EY (Ernst & Young), Eversheds, Google, Hewlett-Packard, Independent News & Media, Kerry Group, Microsoft, MOL, Ridley, Ryanair, Smurfit Kappa Group and Zespri. He is also an experienced board member, having served a number of public and private sector organisations as a director and consultant. In 2017 the Irish Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine re-appointed Damien to the board of Bord Iascaigh Mhara, the body responsible for innovation in the Irish fish industry, for a second term. Damien holds a Bachelor of Business Studies degree from Dublin City University, a Master of Business Studies degree from University College Dublin and PhD in Marketing from Lancaster University (UK).
