The first, in current academic year, meeting of the Friday @ Five series took place on Friday 18/10/2013. The guest speaker was Professor Paulo Roberto Fereira of ISE Business School Brasil. The theme of the meeting was the "Brazil - developing economic power."

During the meeting, Professor Fereira has presented the current economic situation in Brazil and the main economic problems. Then he shared his predictions about the near future in Brazil.

A large part of the meeting was spent on analyzing the economic impact of two major sport events held in Brazil in the coming years - FIFA World Cup in 2014 and the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

The meeting ended with question and answer session.
